This is a refreshing romance novel that leaves you wishing the book had not ended! I was impressed that the author did not use vulgar language nor explicit sexual descriptions, this truly is a romance novel at its best. This novel has romance, intrigue, and vivid descriptions of the characters. Thank you Mary Jeanette Valdez for sharing this well written and engaging novel. This historical romance grabbed my attention and kept me hooked the whole way through! So many romance novels lack romance...they are just sex...this one is full of the romance!! The careful details to history were an added bonus. As an English teacher I was happy to finally read a novel with high caliber vocabulary that evoked vivid imagery!!! Great read and I highly recommend this novel!
I love this book. Mary Jeanette Valdez proves in this work that an author doesn't need to be sexually explicit or vulgar to have their work oozing with Romance. I was gratefully carried away and found it hard to put down. Her character description is richly layered bringing out a depth of emotion highlighting their humanity flaws and all. Her men are strongly masculine and her women smartly feminine. I highly recommend this book if your are looking for something new and refreshing in the Historical Romance genre.
